Adsorbent Hollow Fiber (AHF)

AHF is a porous material with a sponge-like multi-layer structure. Its adjustable multi-layer structure shortens the mass-transfer-zone which makes the target gases can be reached the adsorption sites more easily and cause more efficiently captured in a short time. Its unique structure also makes AHFs have higher adsorption and desorption behavior than pellet-type molecular sieve and sorption wheel.

Based on the micro-pore and layer-structure control, AHF can be a single-layer or multi-layer structure that is designed to meet the demands of clients. Customized AHF is also available for specific gases separation.

Multi-layer finger-like structure of AHF enlarges its surface area which increases the collision probability between target gases and adsorption sites. Compared to the pellet-type adsorbent, the adsorption efficiency of AHF can be improved by more than 25~35% at the breakthrough time.

Low pressure drop makes less energy-consuming. According to AHF’s hollow tube design, the fluid can pass through the adsorption bed more easily than the pellet adsorbent-packed fixed-bed. In other words, the unobstructed passageway of AHF can dramatically decrease the windage loss and flow resistance which can reduce the energy-consuming of blower and compressor.

Outstanding and Impressive Performance

The pressure drop of AuraMat.® AHF is reduced significantly due to the unobstructed passageway for the gas flow. Compared with a traditional adsorbent-packed bed, the pressure drop (Pa/m) of AuraMat.® AHF is 1/100 to a packed bed. Meanwhile, the breakthrough times of AuraMat.® AHF is four times to a commercial pellet system under 1 atm which reveals that the hollow fiber system has much better kinetic characteristics than the packed bed system.
