Natural Gas purified apparatus applied in odor/mercaptan or N2/CO2 removal

(Left) Natural gas purification with PVSA design; (Right) mercaptan removal from natural gas with TSA design

AuraMat.® Natural Gas purified apparatus can be customized with TSA or PVSA design. Continuous methane with high purity can be obtained under different operating pressure.

  • Case A: Natural gas purification with PVSA design

Before purification, the concentration of methane in neutral gas is about 85%.
The methane is concentrated to > 99.5% after processing. The rest are N2< 0.1%, CO2 <0.1%, H2O<0.1%.

  • Case B: Mercaptan removal with TSA design

The odor chemicals in natural gas can be down to ppb level after treatment.
Like DMS (Dimethyl Sulfide) is <0.1 ppmv and TBM (Tertiary Butyl Mercaptan) is < 0.07 ppmv.

  • Customized purified apparatus is available for different inquiries with various impurities.

Can’t we use natural gas directly without purification?

Natural gas is a mixture consisting of methane (CH4), ethane (C2H6), propane (C3H8), and so on. The impurities would be different by country of origin. One of the well-known impurities is Sulfide. Both inorganic (H2S) and organic sulfides (mercaptans, CS2 ) exist strong odor. The corrosivity of sulfide also can deactivate the catalyst. In other words, it is necessary to process natural gas with desulfurization before feeding the natural gas into the transportation pipe.
